Blacksmithing Weekend: Fieldcraft
Learn the fundamentals of blacksmithing over the forge, then put those skills to work creating something you can take home. This two-day veteran-only fieldcraft event is hands-on, practical, and limited to just eight participants.

About the event
Join Sovereign Roots for a hands-on weekend of blacksmithing with instructor James McLaughlin.
This veteran-only Fieldcraft event is designed as a two-day progression, starting with the fundamentals on Saturday and moving into more advanced forge work on Sunday.
Saturday, October 10
9:00 AM–2:00~ish PM
Plan for the possibility of continuing until approximately 2:00 PM.
Saturday will focus on basic blacksmithing techniques, including working safely around the forge, heating and controlling steel, hammer technique, and shaping hot metal.
