WHY IT MATTERS
17-18
veterans die by suicide every day
61%
not enrolled in VA Healthcare
~25,000
veterans on the Western Slope
Veterans on the Western Slope face a higher-than-average risk of suicide due to isolation, limited access to care, and fewer opportunities for connection.
Sovereign Roots exists to change that by providing a central hub in Delta for community, purpose, and peer support.

In 2025, Sovereign Roots moved from vision to action.
What began as an idea rooted in connection became a living, breathing community by serving veterans and their families through shared experience, purpose, and time spent together in the field.
Through Rally Point gatherings, hands-on activities, and intentional space, we created opportunities for veterans to reconnect with themselves, with others, and with a sense of belonging that often fades after service.
The numbers matter, but the real impact is found in the conversations around the fire, the moments of stillness, and the bonds that continue beyond each event.
This is only the beginning.

Sovereign Roots empowers military Veterans through holistic healing programs and purposeful integration. We utilize nature, heritage, and evidence-based modalities to strengthen the Veteran community and harmonize identity with life after service.

THE PROGRAMS
What We Do

The Phases
How We Do It
ROOTS
(April-May)
Every phase of Sovereign Roots, from the resilience of the Trunk to the community of the Branches, depends on the stability of your Roots. This is where you reclaim the strength and autonomy that fuels the entire year.
Foundation & Grounding
TRUNK
(June-July)
The resilience developed here is the direct result of the stability found in your Roots. The Trunk provides the upright strength needed to support the Branches and ensures that your reach into the world is backed by a solid, regulated core.
Strength & Resilience
BRANCHES
(August-September)
You can only reach as far as your Trunk can support. These branches are the visible extension of your progress; they provide the connection points for the community and the framework for the eventual Harvest.
Community & Outreach
HARVEST
(October)
The Harvest is not an accident; it is the inevitable outcome of healthy Roots, a sturdy Trunk, and wide-reaching Branches. It proves that by starting with the physical baseline, you have built a life that is once again under your own command.

TESTIMONIALS

"I enjoyed meeting other Veterans and their significant others. I think these kind of connections are great for this area where there is not a lot of people who live here who understand and have experienced time in and around the military."
S. Bach

"Rally point is unlike most, essentially any of the vet groups or organizations that I support and/or participate in. Includes the Delta American Legion, Freedom Riders, and ReVamp."
B. Willits

"Rally Point has been such a grateful journey through shared service, nostalgia, and an emotional rollercoaster. The environment is peaceful, perfect for helping the conversation along. The folks that come are just as diverse as a hodgepodge platoon, and I love it! Thanks to the veterans and their families that keep showing up. It’s been an honor to listen and speak with you."
